Panels go up by hand, on a ladder or scaffolding depending on the roof. Each one is supported while the installer guides it onto the rails, then the array, inverter and battery are secured, connected and tested to the agreed design.
The system is built for this roof, then documented.
Measure the result
Performance check
We check the inverter status first, then close a solar-rated DC clamp meter around one insulated conductor to read operating current without exposing a live connection. The reading is recorded against expected output.
A fault becomes a reading the team can act on.
Clear and inspect
Cleaning and care
In cool conditions, the team works from a safe path with low-pressure water and soft brushes, then checks frames, mounting points and visible damage.
The cleaning stroke reveals the light the dust was blocking.

Load shedding stopped. The price did not. Electricity rose 8.76% in April and another 9.01% for municipal customers in July, roughly 9% more is already approved for 2027, and tariffs have climbed six times faster than inflation since 2007. Blackouts were the emergency. The bill is the permanent one.

What moves a quote most is worth knowing before anyone visits: whether the roof is tile or IBR sheeting, single or double storey — which decides whether scaffolding is needed — how the roof structure is holding up, how far the DB board sits from where the panels would go, the age of that board, whether the supply is single or three-phase, whether there is a generator to tie in, and whether anything needs trenching. Municipal and SSEG fees sit on top of all of it. We would rather raise those on the first call than on installation day.
Ask any installer for five things: a registered electrical contractor number; the name of the electrician who will sign your Certificate of Compliance, and whether that person actually works for them; SSEG registration lodged with your municipality; warranty periods in writing; and manufacturer certification for the brand they want to put on your roof. Watch what happens. We give you all five before you pay anything.
Only if the installation is SANS 10142 compliant, carries a valid Certificate of Compliance, and is registered with your municipality. If a fault traces back to a non-compliant install, insurers can reduce or reject the claim, and an unregistered system can be treated as an illegal act that voids cover entirely. That is exactly why we do all three as standard rather than as an extra.

Only with a battery. A grid-tied system without storage switches off during an outage. That is a safety law protecting the linesmen working on the network, not a defect in your system. If backup matters to you, say so at the start and we will price the battery in rather than have you discover it later.
Inverters from Sunsynk, Deye and Victron — the same three we hold manufacturer certification for, which is the combination worth checking with anyone quoting you. Batteries from Freedom Won, Hubble, Pylontech and BYD. Panels from Canadian Solar, JA Solar, JinkoSolar and LONGi.
Which of them ends up on your roof depends on your load and what the site assessment finds. Whatever it is, the make and model are named on the quotation before you pay anything, not decided on installation day.
There is no fixed minimum and no fixed maximum. A single backup system for a flat is worth doing, and at the other end we have worked at utility scale as the installation subcontractor on a solar farm, building the array to the project engineer’s design.
Larger jobs are assessed one at a time on capability, resources, risk and the delivery partners available. If a project is bigger than we should take on alone, we would rather say so at the start than find out halfway up the roof.
Bank solar finance is available, and it ends with you owning the system rather than renting it. Zero-deposit is possible and it is always subject to the bank’s credit approval, which is their decision and not ours. We do not publish the banks or their rates here, because those move and they depend on your credit record. When we quote you, we put the total cost over the full term next to the monthly figure. The monthly on its own is how people end up paying far more than they thought.
Yes, for anything grid-tied, and we lodge the SSEG registration with your municipality as part of the job rather than as an extra. It is worth getting right: an unregistered grid-tied system can carry municipal penalties of R6 000 to R30 000, and non-compliance can void an insurance claim on the installation.
Our installation and workmanship carry 12 months. That is the shortest number and the one worth knowing first. The equipment runs longer: panels 10 years on the product and 25 years on performance, inverters 10 years, batteries 10 years. Those are the manufacturers’ warranties and stay subject to their terms, correct use and the maintenance they require.
Next year’s increase is already approved
Around 9% again in 2027, then more. The only bill you control is the one you generate yourself.
